Sorry for the interuption....

Sorry that I have stepped away from my blog for the past year! You know, college can really keep a girl busy!!

I had an amazing first year experince at the University of Georgia...GO DAWGS...and am excited to go back in the fall for my second year! I am so excited to see what is in store for me there!

I hope to become more dedicated to my blog this year as I plan to pursue some big dreams this year!

Pack Accordingly

This tip is a well-known one, but it is so helpful I figured I would post it anyway!

When traveling with young children, or when sending a child off to camp, it is a good idea to pack an outfit a day into a large Ziploc bag. Pack everything that the child would need for the day-shirt, pants, underwear and any hair accessories into the bag. This ensures that you will pack everything you need and it makes for quick dressing in the mornings! It also keeps your packing compact and is easy cleanup, as you can simply put the dirty clothes back in the Ziploc bag at the end of the day and directly into the laundry when you get home! Just so you know, this works for adults too :)

 

What does "PURSUE" mean?

One of my all time favorite quotes states that "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them". ~Walt Disney
As a little girl, I loved all of the Disney movies, especially the princess ones! And to be honest, I still love the Disney movies-you are never too old for them, right? I love this quote because like the Disney movies, it is timeless. Our dreams are ever changing, but no matter what we dream we can accomplish them if we have the courage to pursue them-if we work hard and go out and just do it! This quote applies to ALL of our dreams big and small- and sometimes it is the small dreams that matter the most.
I dream of traveling the world and helping other people. I dream of living a healthy lifestyle full of good food, exercise and a few splurges! And I dream of being naturally beautiful and confident! I will work everyday of my life to keep up my courage to pursue ALL of my dreams!!


For the basis of this blog, PURSUE has a special meaning:


P ack and play--I love traveling, and as I mentioned before, I plan to travel the world and visit all sorts of exotic destinations! Through this blog I will provide tips for traveling, packing and playing while on vacation and I will also recount some of my own travel tales. 


U nwind--I think everyone needs a little more relaxation in their lives, so the first "U" in PURSUE stands for unwind. My family's motto is "Relax and Run Steady". There are a number of runners in my family, myself included, but this quote can really apply to all aspects of life--when times are tough or you are overwhelmed, just relax and run steady--in other words chill and keep going--things will work out!


R espect--This one is pretty self explanatory...to achieve your dreams you will have to respect yourself and the others around you. Respecting yourself and accepting who you are will truly make you a happier person-a person with more courage to pursue their dreams!


S mile--Smiling just makes everything better...it makes you feel better and a simple smile can get you far in life. Smiles also come from people who have good attitudes and good attitudes are needed to achieve dreams too!


U are what you eat--This relates to the cooking and healthy eating aspect of the blog. I really enjoy cooking and especially enjoy cooking healthy meals, you just feel better when you eat healthy! However, I am not a total health nut...I eat ice cream on a regular basis...but I truly believe that you can splurge in moderation and still be healthy! So if you eat healthy, in moderation, you will be healthy...because after all, "U" are what you eat!


E xcel--Finally, the "E" stands for excel. If you live by all the other letters that make up PURSUE, you will truly excel! You will be happy, healthy, worldly, full of knowledge and equipped with the courage to PURSUE your dreams!
